It was an absolutely beautiful day at Salt Ponds today. I really love winters here! Theodoir was a good boy as usual
Theo In The Morning
Theo was bored this morning, so he decided to go wake up his uncle... and stand on him.
Tunnels Beach Wedding
This is a little composite sample from a wedding I shot up on the north shore at Tunnels this morning.
The Customer Is Always Right...
These are a couple samples from a bridal session at Shipwreck Beach in Poipu. I typically try to avoid shooting there, because it is usually full of people getting married and doing exactly this type of shoot. After discussing locations with the couple that booked this shoot, it was clear that they really wanted to shoot here.
I AM GLAD THEY DID! Katherine was such a beautiful bride, and the dress/ accoutrements went perfectly with the setting. We had great skies, great light, and it was nothing but a super positive experience!
As a side note, this is a great example of how to correctly choose and apply your make up for a shoot. Powder-based works best when the goal is to get shots like this with more dramatic lighting.
Theo's Daily Portrait: "Helping"
Theo decided he would start pulling his weight around here and "help" mom with the dishes... by trying to crawl into the dishwasher
Theo's Daily Portrait: Eluding Nap-time
As you can see, his eyes are wide open...
Theo's Daily Portrait: The Epitome of the "Puppydog Look"
Theo is building an arsenal of looks that will likely get him just about anything he wants when he learns how to talk. This is his most effective weapon so far...
Theo's Daily Portrait
With the move I haven't posted a daily portrait in awhile, so here it is... Theo likes the new bed; it has ample room for exploration!
SS Customs Shoot
I did a shoot of some of the bikes at SS Customs here in Lihue. These are pretty rad, The green bike is actually a 250 cc Honda Rebel that has been highly customized. It is VERY cool.
Theo's Daily Portrait: I am AWAKE!
Theo was very happy to greet the dawn today
Theo's Daily Portrait: Cruisin' in the baby walker
Theo has learned how to go forward AND backward in his baby walker. We are very proud.
Theo's Daily Portrait: Breakfast
Theo was pretty excited about his grapefruit this morning
And his quest to attract the ladies continues...
Theo at Pine Trees in Hanalei, showing off his swim diaper and chiseled physique...
Theo's Daily Portrait: Serious Water Activity
It's typically not that difficult to get Theo to smile... unless of course he is playing. Playing for Theo is not always smiley and giggly fun; more often than not it seems for him, playing is nothing more than a means to an end (the end being finally figuring out what he is playing with and how it works). While is trying figure out how it all comes together, if you distract him, he will shoot you the iciest stares known to mankind... no smiles for you. His focus today was trying to figure out how to successfully pick up the stream of water coming out of the hose. And yes, I interrupted that.
Theo's Daily Portrait: The Age of Exploration
Theo made the great crawling (more like dragging) trek from the center of the lawn to the fence. It was quite a journey for the fun-sized explorer, but he seemed to feel it was worth it.
Theo's Daily Portrait: A Good Night's Rest
Theo slept from 8:30pm to 5:30am. We are very proud parents.
Theo's Daily Portrait: Distraction Props
Every time I take Theo's portrait in front of the house, he gets more interested in the palms behind him than the lens in front of him. As a result, I get a ton of shots of the back of his head... This time I gave him a book as a distraction from his normal distraction. Worked like a charm!
Theo's Daily Portrait: Sick Day
Theo has been pretty sick with a cough and a fever, so I decided to give him a break on his daily portrait and not make him get out of bed for it.
Campaign Cut Short
These are some images from a campaign I started a while back , but didn't get to finish because we ended up moving out here to Kauai. Perhaps I will try and pick it back up here, Kauai has an awesome Humane Society facility. http://kauaihumane.org/
The Progression of Theo
These are a few of the images of Theo's progression over the past 9 months
