Theo's Daily Portrait: Theodoir Quinn The Exhibitionist

It was pretty hot outside today, so we filled up a Rubbermaid tub with water on the front lawn and stuck Theo in it to cool down. He didn't seem to mind...

Hanalei Watersports Swapmeet

On the first Saturday of every month from 9 to Noon, The Hanalei Surf Company sponsors a watersports swapmeet. People gather on the lawn out front and independently sell their used equipment. I am told that people can get some screamin' deals on various pieces of equipment. I mainly took pictures of people while I was there... well, actually that was all I did while I was there. These are just a few of the shots that for one reason or another I thought were my favorites.

This Could Be VERY GOOD... Or VERY BAD

We've seen a lot more teasers and snippets about the new Ninja Turtles re-boot, as its August 8th release date nears. From the various trailers, visually speaking, it appears to me that Mr. Bay has done about as good as one can do when tasked with bringing turtles to life as crime-fighting teenagers. Now all that remains is to see if he can deliver a good story and script.

Polihale State Park Family Photo FUN

Having a photographer in the family is only useful if he or she actually takes pictures of the family... this is me trying to be useful.

We went up to Polihale State Park on the west side of Kauai for a nice little Saturday on the beach. It's a bit of a rough drive out there, but it is definitely worth it. The end of Polihale Beach is the end of the road on the west side, as it is halted abruptly by the towering cliffs of the Napali Coast. It is one of a few locations in the world that I have seen that really feel like "the edge of the earth." Absolutely beautiful, and as far as sunset shoots go, it doesn't get better than this place!

Shoot with Julian Coiner

Had an awesome impromptu shoot with Kauai real estate agent/triathlete Julian Coiner. Julian is training for the Kona 70.3 Ironman. Super fun and great light; you can't really beat these south shore Poipu sunsets!
